Private weather information provider WeatherPhilippines Foundation recently discussed its sustainability and resilience-oriented initiatives at the 2018 Ready: Disaster Resilience Forum convened by Cebuana Lhuillier and the Microinsurance Agents Association of the Philippines held last July 4 at the Shangri-La at The Fort.
“To foster resilience and align with the Aboitiz Group’s sustainability efforts, we turned from one-time donations to a more holistic, solution-focused, and area-based approach. To guide us in this strategic and integrated approach, we follow a Roadmap to Resilience where we start with connecting with our stakeholders, understanding their needs and establishing a good relationship with them. We then understand and analyze the risk within their communities. This guides us in plotting appropriate actions to be taken. Once we are able to implement our plans, we ensure that we monitor and evaluate our actions to improve our next step,” said Maribeth L. Marasigan, WeatherPhilippines First Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
