ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard

On September 2012, the Philippines joined Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam in adopting the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS). The main objectives of the ACGS is to rank ASEAN publicly-listed companies and raise their corporate governance standards.

 

Pursuant to the ACGS, the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission, in coordination with the Institute of Corporate Directors, hold evaluation runs of the ACGS for publicly-listed companies starting May 2013.

PSE Corporate Governance Guidelines Disclosure

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) requires publicly-listed companies to submit annually the accomplished Corporate Governance Guidelines Disclosure. The Disclosure Survey is under a ‘comply or explain’ regime wherein companies are required to affirm their compliance with best practice recommendations or otherwise explain their failure to comply with stated practice. The result of the Disclosure Survey is used as a basis for PSE’s Bell Awards for Corporate Governance.
