Aboitiz releases 13th or 14th month pay of team members in advance

The Aboitiz Group announced it will release the 13th- or 14th-month pay of regular team members in the first week of April, ahead of the December and April scheduled payouts as the National Capital Region and nearby provinces are placed under  Enhanced Community Quarantine once again.

“We understand that financial security is critical for all, especially during these challenging times. And our A-People who are at the center of our organizational resilience, whose hard work, agility, and commitment are unparalleled, remains our top priority. They are the lifeblood of our organization. Their welfare will always be our utmost concern,” said Sabin M. Aboitiz, Aboitiz Group President and Chief Executive Officer.

In the past year, as businesses dealt with the challenges brought about by the global health crisis, the Aboitiz Group has continuously provided its team members with various kinds of assistance ー both its frontline workers or those working on-site and those who are working from home ー to ensure their safety and well-being while continuously serving its customers and stakeholders.

To  help its team members get through yet another tough year, the Group’s holding company Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV) rolled out #LetsStayConnected, a series of total wellness initiatives focusing on three pillars: mental, physical, and financial wellness. Its strategic business units have similar programs for its team members.

Under mental wellness, AEV  offers online counseling to help manage stress and anxiety, 24/7 teleconsultations (with partner Maxicare) for more convenient and safer check-ups, Check-IN+ pulse checks for team members, and #ForYouFriday email blasts that remind team members how to stay healthy. There are also A-Community chatrooms to connect team members within communities for updates and other learning and engagement interventions.

To address burnout concerns, the company introduced  ‘C-Focused Fridays’, an initiative that provides team members a specific and uniform time block to encourage team members to allot time for themselves and focus solely on  personal as well as professional development.

Team members are likewise encouraged to join A-Club and team member-initiated physical activities such as virtual exercises, yoga, and meditation classes.

This year, #LetsStayConnected is expected to continue with more initiatives such as #BetterUs, a six-week mental health and well-being challenge; more learning sessions on topics such as emotional intelligence, continuous sourcing of counseling partners, and continuous partnerships for team member needs.
