Aboitiz Foundation Laudstop Partner Groups in Cebu

Four Cebu-based cooperatives have shown that through hard work and cooperation, attaining success in an endeavor is possible.   

The cooperatives—Kapunungan sa mga Banikanhong Mag-uuma Alang sa Ekonomikanhong Kalambuan (KABAMEKA), Cambinocot Multipurpose Cooperative, St. Vincent Neighborhood Multipurpose Cooperative and South Cebu Hog Raisers Multipurpose Cooperative—were lauded yesterday by Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. not only for being its outstanding partners but also for serving as an inspiration to similar organizations.  They were given plaques and P10,000 for their group.

From the time they first sought the help of Aboitiz Foundation, these cooperatives have since grown not only in terms of membership but also in the number of projects they have implemented.  Today, these organizations continue to shoe outstanding and exemplary performance in their businesses and communities.

Leaders and members of the four groups were awarded yesterday during the Foundation’s ABAG (Aboitiz Business Assistance and Guidance) Recognition Day held at Casino Español in Cebu City.  At least 450 members of cooperatives and other organizations assisted by Aboitiz Foundation attended the gathering.

Aboitiz Foundation Trustee Romy Ronquillo and EVP and Managing Trustee Sonny Carpio led the awarding ceremony together with Cooperative Development Authority 7 Director Philip Deri and Department of Labor and Employment 7 Assistant Director Lilia Estillore.

For 20 years now, Aboitiz Foundation under its enterprise development program has been assisting different organizations nationwide earn additional income, providing access to various income-generating livelihood activities and job opportunities and empowering them to become entrepreneurs in their own respective businesses. 

Yesterday, Aboitiz Foundation also gave plaques of appreciation to all its partner organizations that implemented various primary health and child care projects.
