12th Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit to be held in Cebu & Manila for the first

The Aboitiz Group further embraces its recent move to the nation’s capital, without abandoning its Visayan roots as it holds its much-anticipated 12th Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit (AFLBS) in two venues – Manila and Cebu – for the very first time.

What began in 2006 as a three-day gathering of Cebu’s brightest student leaders, with the vision of preparing them for the corporate world, is now emerging on a bigger, better, and bolder scale. Now an annual phenomenon, this year’s AFLBS will bring together top-ranking students from the country’s finest universities for al four-day summit on business and leadership, the Aboitiz Way.

As one of the country’s most-awaited youth conferences, the four-day summit will provide participants the opportunity to learn and practice leadership skills and management concepts.  The program—consisting of a plenary session, six breakout sessions, and an exciting mixer activity—will expose student delegates to the world of business, corporate life, responsibility, and nation building.

With the theme “Filipino Youth, Global Leaders: We Drive Change for a Better World,” this year’s summit (to be held in Dusit Thani Manila and Waterfront Airport Hotel & Casino in Makati and Mactan Cities, respectively) will gather 90 students (56 from Luzon, 24 from Visayas, and 10 from Mindanao) pursuing degrees in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, and Mechanical), Economics, Finance/Accountancy and Psychology— all with potential to create a positive difference as a youth leader here or offshore.

“In its 12th year, the AFLBS continues to be a shared commitment to develop and nurture our young and promising delegates toward becoming effective leaders in the future,” said Txabi Aboitiz, Chief Human Resource Officer of Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc., which last October, was included among six Filipino-owned companies to have made it in Forbes’ Global 2000: World’s Best Employers list.

During the summit, top Aboitiz executives and team leaders from different Aboitiz business units such as Erramon I. Aboitiz, Txabi Aboitiz, Sabin M. Aboitiz, Jim Aboitiz, and Dmi Lozano will share their thoughts, experiences, and advice that will inspire and encourage delegates to create a difference in society.

This year’s AFLBS will also re-engage the most number of alumni in its 12-year history in a grand homecoming for AFLBS batches 1 to 11.
