Therma Mobile promotes proper nutrition in Malabon community
AboitizPower subsidiary Therma Mobile, Inc. (TMO), together with Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (Aboitiz Foundation), donated nutrition packs to mothers and children of Barangay Acacia, Malabon City last July 26 during the community’s culmination of the National Nutrition Month celebration.
The nutrition packs consisted of selected healthy snacks for children and supplements that can support breastmilk production for lactating mothers and women with high-risk pregnancies.
“It is important for pregnant and lactating mothers to start consuming nutrient rich food as early as possible, as it also lessens the risk of malnutrition in the future,” Malabon City Health Officer Edna Divina said.
The turnover followed the barangay’s month-long nutrition month celebration in partnership with the Malabon City Health Office. Bannering the theme “New normal na nutrisyon, sama-samang gawan ng solusyon,” the health department organized a series of seminars tackling community health and nutrition, proper diet and exercise, and safe pregnancy.
“We are glad to support the initiatives of Malabon City to promote health and wellness among its residents, most especially pregnant women and lactating mothers. We hope that these nutrition packs will be of great help in the nourishment and well being of many families in the city,” said Camille Midua, Reputation Senior Specialist of Therma Mobile, Inc.
Barangay Captain Monching de Jesus expressed his gratitude to AboitizPower for being instrumental in supporting mothers and promoting health care in their community.
“We are thankful for this donation from AboitizPower. This is a big help especially for mothers who need support in taking care of their children,” he said.
Meanwhile, Therma Power Visayas, Inc. (TPVI) also organized an activity to support the Barangay Nutrition Committee of Brgy. Colon in the City of Naga, Cebu, in line with the Nutrition Month celebration.
They conducted a “Buntis Congress” which aims to educate mothers on safe motherhood, importance of the baby’s first 1,000 days, and the significance of breastfeeding and complementary feeding. TPVI and Aboitiz Foundation also provided nutrition packs to the participants. #
