The Net Group chooses AboitizPower’s Cleanergy anew

Before “green” development became trendy, The Net Group (TNG) has long been leading the way, making it the Philippines’ largest green office building developer and operator today.

Nearly 20 years after it was founded by real estate connoisseurs Jacques Dupasquier and Carlos Rufino, TNG now has seven “green” buildings with almost three million square feet gross leasable area and are home to Fortune 500 companies and many other multinational organizations.

These pioneering developments of TNG have been powered by Cleanergy, AboitizPower’s brand for clean and renewable energy, since 2013.

Raymond Rufino, TNG co-president, said that their decision to switch to Cleanergy was driven by their long-standing commitment to sustainability.

“We want to give our customers an overall “green” experience – from the design and architecture of our buildings, up to the power supply that we use. We don’t just rent out office spaces, we provide a sustainable work experience that is good not only for our tenants but also for our environment,” Rufino said.

In its mission to continue revolutionizing the workplace, TNG has recently renewed its partnership with AboitizPower. TNG co-president Maria Cristina Samson commended AboitizPower’s continued quality performance.

“AboitizPower has been a dependable power supplier since the beginning of our partnership five years ago. Their Cleanergy, as well as other value-added services, are of high quality and reliability. We are a happy customer and look forward to more years of excellent partnership with them,” Samson said.

With the renewed power supply agreement, AboitizPower will continue to “Cleanergize” TNG’s seven buildings namely Net Park, Net Lima, NetPlaza, Net Quad, Net Cube, Net Square, Net One Center, with an aggregated demand of 13.5 megawatts (MW).

“We are honored to have been chosen anew by one of the country’s most sustainable organizations, TNG. This inspires us even more to continue growing our balanced mix of renewable and thermal assets. Of our 50 power plants, 32 make up our Cleanergy portfolio of hydro, geothermal, and solar facilities,” Sandro Aboitiz, First Vice President of AboitizPower Energy Trading and Sales, said.

Emmanuel V. Rubio, AboitizPower Chief Operating Officer, added that their Cleanergy brand is part of the company’s balanced mix strategy to deliver power supply that is not only reliable and affordable, but also environmentally sustainable.

“At AboitizPower, we put equal value on all the dimensions of the energy trilemma –energy security, energy equity, and environmental sustainability. Cleanergy is part of something bigger, which is our balanced mix strategy to ensure that our power supply is reliable, reasonably priced, and responsibly produced,” Rubio said.

To date, AboitizPower and its partners have 1,294 MW of Cleanergy, which is being delivered to its customers including The Net Group, Asian Development Bank, Nestle Philippines, Shangri-La Mactan, Draka Philippines, and UnionBank, among others.
