On its 10th year of building young talented leaders , the AFLBS reaches a significant milestone in preparing and empowering the youth to be change makers in their chosen field of profession, and in society in general .
“As Aboitiz moves toward attaining its mission of creating long term value for its stakeholders, it is committed to its sustainability efforts towards People, Planet, and Profit. The AFLBS continues to be a shared commitment t o develop and nurture our young and promising delegates toward becoming effective leaders in the future ,” said Txabi Aboitiz, Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. The AFLBS is a yearly gathering of the country’s brightest college student leaders for a two-day summit of fun and knowledge through activities that allow participants to develop their leadership skills and learn how to concretize management concepts in a corporate environment.
Top Aboitiz executives from different Aboitiz business units are expected to share their knowledge, experience, and philosophies that reinforce high hopes for the country for these future leaders.
This year’s delegates, from 41 schools nationwide, reflect a diverse set of interests and backgrounds, setting the stage for a dynamic summit experience ahead. Over half or 27% of AFLBS delegates are enrolled in Business Administration/Management/Marketing courses, followed by Accountancy and Engineering at 22% and 19%, respectively. The other delegates hold degrees in Social Sciences, Economics/Finance/Math/Statistics, Information Technology/Computer Science, and other courses.
The AFLBS is part of the Aboitiz commitment to prioritize education in its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The summit, which began in 2006 as a gathering of Cebu’s brightest student leaders, has become a national event, providing opportunities for student delegates to foster relationships not only among co-delegates and Aboitiz team members, but also establish networks with executives and other industry leaders.
