Pilmico, Aboitiz Foundation aid over 600 Lando-stricken families in Tarlac

Pilmico, the food subsidiary of the Aboitiz Group, together with the Aboitiz Foundation, has donated relief packs to 648 families in Mayantoc, Tarlac affected by heavy flooding due to Typhoon Lando.

 

The relief packs, containing essential food items such as biscuits, sardines, corned beef, coffee, and rice, among others, were distributed by the Aboitiz Foundation in coordination with the Mayantoc municipal government and barangay officials. Areas covered by the distribution were Barangays Nambalan (351 packs), Baybayaoas (152 packs), and Cubcub (145 packs).

 

Typhoon Lando made landfall in Casiguran, Aurora last October 18, affecting over 121,000 families in northern and central Luzon as of October 20. According to The Official Gazette, a total of 635 flooding incidents were monitored in affected provinces, including Tarlac.

 

“Driven by our passion to serve, the Aboitiz Group is always ready to help in times of disaster. Our initial relief efforts in Tarlac is just the beginning as we help central Luzon get back on its feet,” Sonny Carpio, Aboitiz Foundation Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
