Liloan Women Gain Tech Skills Through Partnership Between Aboitiz Land, Aboitiz Foundation, and Connected Women
On May 16, Aboitiz Land, Aboitiz Foundation, Connected Women, and the Liloan Municipality inked a partnership in Liloan, Cebu to implement the Elevate AIDA program, which aims to provide underprivileged women with training in artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and other tech skills. This training is designed to enhance employment opportunities and foster long-term, flexible work for women in Liloan.
Aboitiz Land is committed to innovating ways for FIlipinos to live by focusing on social and environmental sustainability. Elevate AIDA equips women with market-aligned digital skills, empowering them to thrive in the digital economy.
“By embracing technology, Elevate AIDA enables women in Liloan to build their career from home, support their family, and contribute to the economy,” said Farrah Nina Mayol, Senior Assistant Vice President for Customer and Reputation Management at Aboitiz Land.
By integrating sustainability into their operations and addressing gender disparities, Aboitiz Land fosters inclusive growth and builds resilient communities. Their approach ensures that progress benefits their communities and neighboring localities for a balanced and sustainable future.
Connected Women and the Aboitiz Foundation have been steadfast partners of Aboitiz Land in implementing the Elevate AIDA program in local communities in Luzon, where they were able to hold two graduation ceremonies for 37 graduates from Nueva Ecija and Batangas. These trainees included full-time mothers aiming to earn from home, working students, and high school graduates with limited income options.
“At Aboitiz Foundation, we’re committed to empowering communities as we continue to join hands with Aboitiz Land, Connected Women, and the Municipality of Liloan to enhance digital literacy and create job opportunities for women. We are not just changing lives; we are shaping the future, embodying our mission to Change Today, Shape the Future,” said Aboitiz Foundation President Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar.
Agnes Gervacio, CEO of Connected Women, added, “Through Elevate AIDA, we are creating a tech-empowered future where Filipino women can thrive and support each other. With one empowered woman at a time, we can nurture a society where every individual has the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from economic progress.”
Initially a small training program for 60 women in Toledo City, Cebu, Elevate AIDA has now expanded to a community of 300 Elevate AIDA graduates, with a goal to reach 300,000 women in three years. The program aims to prepare women for socially responsible online work, contributing to a more inclusive future.
The collaboration with the Municipality of Liloan highlights the continuing commitment to co-create resilient and sustainable communities, one tech-empowered woman at a time. The joint effort between Aboitiz Land, Aboitiz Foundation, the Municipality of Liloan, and Connected Women signifies a collective commitment from both public and private sectors to bring a brighter, more inclusive future for Filipino women.
