    Foreign Chambers eye PSAC for Policy Boosting Foreign Investments in PH

    Ebb Hinchliffe, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines engages with PSAC Lead Convenor and Aboitiz Group President and CEO, Sabin Aboitiz.     The Joint Foreign Chambers of the Philippines (JFC) through Ebb Hinchliffe, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (AmCham) recently convened a significant meeting with Sabin Aboitiz, the Lead Convenor of the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) and President and CEO of the Aboitiz Group; this landmark dialogue, held recently, marked a pivotal moment to recommend policies, flagship programs, and legislative concerns, fostering an environment of collaboration and partnership to drive sustainable economic growth in the Philippines.

    The meeting brought together prominent figures from both the JFC and PSAC, including Randall Garcia, AmCham Project Director, Kimmi Siu Dewar, Executive Director of the Australian-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce Philippines (ANZCham), Florian Gottein and Sophia Ordona, Associate Directors of the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), Shimoda Shigeru and Nobuo Fujii, President and Vice President of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines (JCCIPI), Hyewon Eunice Park, Director of the Korean Chamber of Commerce Philippines (KCCP), Atty Mimi Lopez-Malvar, Director of the Philippine Association of Multinational Companies Regional Headquarters, Inc. (PAMURI), Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar, PSAC Communications Lead, and DJ Sta Ana, Deputy Lead Secretariat of PSAC.

    The focal point of the meeting was the discussion of JFC Priority Legislation and Policy Measures of Concern. The Joint Foreign Chambers of the Philippines shared their priority legislative proposals and other policy concerns, reflecting the collective interests of the foreign business community operating in the Philippines. This open exchange of insights allowed for a deeper understanding of the needs and aspirations of foreign investors and businesses within the country.

    Sabin Aboitiz, in his capacity as the PSAC Lead Convenor, presented the coalition’s priority policies and flagship programs designed to advance sustainability, innovation, and inclusive growth within the Philippines. These initiatives underscore PSAC’s unwavering commitment to driving positive change and fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors.

    The meeting served as a platform for open and constructive dialogue, enabling both the PSAC and JFC to explore opportunities for collaboration and alignment of interests. Aboitiz expressed his enthusiasm for the collaborative efforts between PSAC and JFC, stating, “The future of the Philippines lies in the hands of those who are willing to work together to address the most pressing challenges. Through collaboration, we can achieve a sustainable and prosperous future for our nation.”

    As the dialogue continues, PSAC and JFC remain steadfast in their commitment to furthering their shared goals of economic development, sustainability, and competitiveness for the Philippines.
