First-ever localized weather mobile application launched

Recently, we have been able to access near-real-time weather updates on television and on websites. But localized weather updates on your smartphone–why not? Aboitiz social enterprise Weather Solutions is expanding its reach to include tech-savvy, “weather-wiser” citizens.

Launched during the first Aboitiz Advancing Business and Communities Summit last September the Weather Solutions mobile app fully demonstrates how people and technology are advancing business and communities in the digital space.

The Weather Solutions mobile app, designed by its namesake, Aboitiz social enterprise Weather Solutions, gives accurate seven-day, by-the-hour forecasts of specific locations. Utilizing 826 automated weather stations (AWS) deployed all over the Philippines, the mobile app will help users monitor locations of interest with hyper-localized weather information.

With the Weather Solutions mobile app, users may have access to:

  • Color-coded warnings for rain, wind, and temperature maps in the Philippines, based on world meteorological standards
  • Easy overview of selected locations’ weather information
  • Fresh user interface and experience, with a swipe feature for hourly forecasts on each selected location
  • Detailed seven-day weather forecasts for each selected location

“We are pleased to offer the new Weather Solutions mobile app. We believe being #WeatherWiser does not have to be difficult or boring — we hope our users will be able to fully utilize our great new features and by doing so adopt a #WeatherWiser mindset moving forward,” said Jojo Z. Marasigan, Weather Solutions General Manager.

The Weather Solutions mobile app is available for download for free via the Apple Store for iOS users or the Google Play Store for Android users.
