ANC to start utilizing Weather Solutions data for weather broadcast

Aboitiz social enterprise Weather Solutions, Inc. has partnered with the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC), allowing the television network to utilize specialized data for its daily weather reports.

A partnership contract between the two firms was signed last April 25 at the Aboitiz Corporate Center in Bonifacio Global City by Susan V. Valdez, Weather Solutions Chairman; Jojo Z. Marasigan, Weather Solutions President; and Cillete L. Co, ANC Chief Operating Officer.

One of the many industries generally affected by weather is the media/broadcast industry. Whether it is for the broadcast of weather information or the logistics of offsite newscasts, highly accurate weather information is a necessity. People’s lives could rely on the accuracy of the weather reports issued by media organizations.

Under the signed contract, Weather Solutions will also train ANC staff on basic weather knowledge and provide them with access to Weather Solutions’ highly-accurate weather data and special meteorological reports, among other highly-specialized weather data. Weather Solutions will now be providing hyperlocal weather information all over the Philippines, which can be utilized for all weather reports of ANC.

“While Weather Solutions has closed this partnership with ANC, we still look forward to partnering and linking our weather services to other media agencies all over the country,” Marasigan said.

Furthermore, Marasigan stated that they are pipelining initiatives to address the weather needs and fill in information gaps of business and communities. “In the coming years, we would like for this partnership to be fruitful and to traverse from data sharing into more meaningful engagements,” Marasigan added.
