    AEV bags Agora Award for Outstanding Achievement in Advocacy Marketing

    The Aboitiz Group recently bagged the prestigious Agora Award for Outstanding Achievement in Advocacy Marketing in support of the United Nations Global Compact. The award is given by the Philippine Marketing Association to Philippine-based companies that have institutionalized advocacy marketing, corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, and initiatives that support the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with Filipino beneficiaries.

    As a company that operates in various critical sectors, the Group recognizes its unique responsibility to its stakeholders: building products and services as an inclusive business, in order to create opportunities to uplift the Group’s partner communities across the country.

    Ginggay Hontiveros, Vice President for Reputation Management of Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. (AEV), accepted the award on behalf of the Aboitiz Group during a virtual awarding ceremony held last October 27.

    In her speech, Hontiveros highlighted the importance of working hand-in-hand in order to work towards fulfilling SDG targets. “This award is an affirmation of the great strides we have made thus far in promoting inclusive growth as part of the Aboitiz Group’s commitment to the UN SDGs. We would like to share this recognition with all of our partners and stakeholders who have been part of our journey in delivering the SDG targets,” she said.

    The Aboitiz Group’s sustainability initiatives and their key performance indicators highlight the organization’s contribution to poverty reduction, education, climate change, responsible consumption, disaster preparedness, technological innovation, and institutional partnership.

    “For our part, we will continue our efforts to promote a balance between economic, societal, and environmental stewardship, and uphold our responsibility to the communities we serve, whether it is keeping the lights on, delivering financial services in the digital space, and ensuring our nation’s food security.  We will continue to rise above the challenges as we drive change for a better world by advancing business and communities,” said Hontiveros.

    The #OneAboitiz sustainability framework of the company holistically looks into the 17 SDGs as an ecosystem that impacts the quality of life of the communities, via corporate social responsibility programs that develop enterprises through sustainable means such as capacity building.
