    Aboitiz team members aid Batangas

Following an initial wave of relief efforts, several Manila-based Aboitiz team members traveled to Calaca, Batangas last January 25 to turn over more relief packages to residents affected by the Taal volcano eruption. Over 5,200 residents in 14 evacuation centers received relief packages, as well as art materials and toys.

“Our assistance to Batangas in the wake of the Taal Volcano eruption continues with our turnover of relief packages in Calaca, Batangas. We hope that with the presence of our team members, we were able to bring a bit of hope and cheer to our Batangueno brothers and sisters,” said Maribeth L. Marasigan, Aboitiz Foundation President and Chief Operating Officer.

“It took the simplest of gestures to make a difference. I am beyond grateful that I was able to join the Aboitiz Foundation’s initiative to help our kababayans in Batangas. The bayanihan spirit is truly alive and well,” said Crisia Llante, Aboitiz Equity Ventures Learning & Development Associate who joined the relief packing activity.

The Aboitiz Group is always in the forefront of disaster relief in its business units’ host communities. In 2019, 410 Aboitiz team member volunteers provided 41,661 families with food and non-food relief packages, while 18,597 families benefited from power line restoration.
