Aboitiz sets 8th Future Leaders Summit, Calls on Youth Participation

The Aboitiz Group is urging promising and talented college students around the country to participate in the 8th Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit (AFLBS) to be held August in Cebu City.

Since 2006, Aboitiz has been bringing together the country’s top 90 college students nationwide for a two-day event featuring activities that will hone the participant’s business and leadership skills.

The Summit is just one of the many programs under the Aboitiz Future Talents Program, which also accepts interns and scholars on a yearly basis. To date, The Future Talents Program has taught over sixty interns and helped close to fifty college scholars.

“We are proud that the Aboitiz Group has made an impact on the lives of the youth for the past years through our programs. We want to help prepare the Summit participants and train them to face the corporate world and pass it with flying colors. This is part of the Aboitiz Group’s commitment in putting education as our primary corporate social responsibility project,” says Txabi Aboitiz, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer of the Aboitiz Group.

The annual gathering of students is the Aboitiz Group’s way of preparing potential youth leaders for the corporate world while solidifying their faith and hope in our country.

“By giving them this opportunity, we hope that the participants will also do their share to help the younger generation become future leaders,” Aboitiz said.

This year’s Summit theme is Significantly Changing My Philippines. Delegates will participate in plenary discussions, games and teambuilding exercises that simulate real work and business situations.

The Aboitiz Group has carefully crafted activities designed to prepare the student leader participants for their critical role in nation building. Their learning experiences are aimed at motivating them to respond to the everyday call of leadership.

The Summit is also expected to foster relationships not only among delegates, team members and the Aboitiz Group but also establish networks with CEOs, executives and other industry leaders.

The Aboitiz Group encouraged interested participants who are Filipino citizen, not more than 25 years old at the time of the Summit, and an incoming 3rd or 4th year student (for 4-year courses) or 4th or 5th year student (for 5-year courses) taking up Business Management, Accounting, Communications, Political Science, Information Technology, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Psychology, Economics and Law to participate.

Interested participants must also belong to the top 20 of their class, be an active leader or officer of any student organization, have excellent communication skills, and are not facing any disciplinary case inside or outside the campus.

Dead line of submission of applications for the Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit and the Aboitiz College Scholarship Program is on March 22.
