Aboitiz Foundation, Therma Mobile Donate Armchairs to 2 Navotas Schools

School officials of Bagumbayan Elementary School, led by its principal Esperanza Soledad, happily accept the armchairs.

Aboitiz Foundation and Therma Mobile, a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power, turned over new set of armchairs to two of the most populous public elementary schools in Navotas City last Dec. 18, 2012.

The new armchairs replace the dilapidated ones being used by some 1,800 pupils of Kapitbahayan Elementary School and Bagumbayan Elementary School.

In her message, Aboitiz Foundation Supervising Project Officer Jowelle Ann Cruz said the donation symbolizes the Foundation’s hope for the children to succeed in their journey towards learning. “With this intervention, we hope that our children can start building their dreams and have a stronger foundation in their education,” Cruz added.

Orbelia Laureano, principal of Kapitbahayan Elementary School (KES), said the donation will increase enrolment and attendance of students. Aside from the armchairs, KES has received from Aboitiz Foundation and Therma Mobile an AGAPP Silid Pangarap classroom and school furniture and books for kindergarten students.

Bagumbayan Elementary School principal Esperanza Soledad, for her part, said she was very thankful that Aboitiz Foundation and Therma Mobile have chosen her school to be one of the beneficiaries of the armchairs.

Before the end of the turnover ceremonies, Aboitiz Foundation and Aboitiz Power recognized by the two schools for their commitment to uphold the quality of education of public schools in Navotas.
