A total of 60 Taguig City public high school students received valuable, first-hand training from some of the country’s best business journalists at a recent business writing seminar held by the Aboitiz Foundation—the corporate foundation of the Aboitiz Group—in partnership with the Economic Journalists Association of the Philippines (EJAP) last November 26 at the Taguig Integrated School. One of the resource speakers, Cathy Rose A. Garcia, BusinessWorld Associate Editor (center) is recognized following her talk, and is joined by (from left) Rechiel Cordova, Aboitiz Foundation Senior Project Officer; Noel Balubal, Department of Education Taguig-Pateros Senior Education Specialist-Monitoring & Evaluation; Franz Jonathan G. de la Fuente, Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. Corporate Branding & Communication Specialist; and Jenniffer A. Austria, EJAP President.

The Aboitiz Group has long been supportive of the country’s public education system, believing this is where the Group can make the biggest impact. The Aboitiz Foundation’s most important goal is to achieve universal public education by establishing more Aboitiz BetterWorld schools that promise a better learning environment, such as the Taguig Integrated School. This, in turn, supports one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, specifically on Quality Education (Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all).
