Aboitiz donations benefit 2,500 Lando-stricken families in Luzon

The Aboitiz Group, aided by its business units (BUs) and its social development arm, the Aboitiz Foundation, has quickly mobilized its resources in coming up with assistance for nearly 2,500 families affected by Typhoon Lando in north and central Luzon

 

As of November 1, Pilmico Animal Nutrition has already donated 650 relief packs in Tarlac, and just last weekend, distributed 190 relief packs for families in evacuation centers in Cabanatuan and Gapan Cities, Nueva Ecija. Likewise, Hedcor Benguet donated 40 relief packs to families affected by the reported landslides in Bakun, Benguet, while this week, AboitizPower (Negron Cuadrado) will donate 1,600 relief packs in Zambales. Each assisted family received one relief pack contained essential food items such as biscuits, sardines, corned beef, coffee, and rice, among others.

 

All in all, the Aboitiz Group’s commitment to Typhoon Lando relief operations has already exceeded P809,000, reflecting the joint efforts of the Aboitiz BUs and the Aboitiz Foundation.

 

Typhoon Lando made landfall in Casiguran, Aurora last October 18, affecting over 666,000 families in Luzon as of October 28. According to The Official Gazette, a total of 956 flooding incidents were monitored in affected provinces in Luzon.

We hope that these relief efforts will help our kababayans recover as we help north and central Luzon get back on its feet,” Sonny Carpio, Aboitiz Foundation Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
