Aboitiz-DDLS partnership champions cutting-edge cloud computing education in the Philippines
Local information technology (IT) practitioners were recently given comprehensive training on the latest in cloud computing with a four-day run of Microsoft Azure Fundamentals and Microsoft Azure Administrator classes, thanks to the latest partnership between the Aboitiz Group and DDLS, Australia’s largest provider of corporate IT and process training.
The classes ran from August 5 to 9 with 20 participants from various local companies. They were trained on Microsoft Azure, a set of cloud computing services designed to help organizations meet business challenges.
With Microsoft Azure, businesses have the freedom to build, manage, and deploy applications on a global network using preferred tools and frameworks.
DDLS Philippines, a local joint venture of DDLS Australia and Aboitiz Impact Ventures, Inc. (AIV, a 100%-owned unit of Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc.), selected these courses based on its strong partnership with Microsoft and the high demand of the Philippine market for quality instruction on this topic.
With this latest venture, Aboitiz continues to participate in nation-building and reinforce its commitment to education by providing employment opportunities and access to quality education in the field of IT.
“We in Aboitiz have always believed in education and its role in Advancing Business and Communities. In this rapidly-changing world, we need rapidly-adaptive education, and this is what we are addressing in DDLS Philippines,” said AIV President Jokin Aboitiz.
DDLS Philippines Country General Manager Mike Calma, for his part, said: “We welcome the arrival of DDLS in the Philippines. Local IT professionals are hungry for high-quality training in specialized skills such as Microsoft Azure, to equip themselves with the formal and practical knowledge they will need to undertake digital transformation and innovation projects and to progress their individual careers. We are confident that the DDLS brand can elevate the abilities of our practitioners, and therefore, the IT industry.”
As proof of DDLS Philippines’ commitment to IT education, construction of the first DDLS Philippines campus has already commenced in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
The brand-new campus will be equipped with seven state-of-the-art training rooms, all fitted out with the latest computer hardware and telepresence technology (DDLS Anywhere). The Philippine campus facilities are being set up to meet the same high standards DDLS has been providing its clients for the past 28 years.
Philippine clients may expect a wide range of public and private courses to be available in the next few weeks, with a focus on cloud, modern workplace, networking, and cybersecurity courses, as well as process courses such as ITIL, Project Management, DevOps and Agile.
