Aboitiz Construction to work on Philippine Resins Industries chemical plant expansion

Aboitiz Construction, Inc. (ACI), the privately-held construction arm of the Aboitiz Group, partnered last November with Philippine Resins Industries, Inc. (PRII) to double the latter’s polyvinyl chloride resin plant capacity in Bataan.

ACI chairman Jaime Jose Aboitiz (JJA) and president and chief operating officer Alberto Ignacio, Jr. led the memorandum of agreement signing with PRII’s representatives Takahara Kurokawa and Yoshihide Kanisawa. Others present from ACI were Felma Yap, FVP for Business Development, Marketing, Sales and Estimating, Jonathan Bendebel, FVP for Operations, Richel Mahayag, VP and Chief Finance Officer, Atty. Ria Lidia Espina, AVP for Legal & Contracts, and Annie Diaz, Sales Manager.

PRII’s resin plant expansion, an 18-month project, includes a combined package for the structural, mechanical, piping, and civil works expansion of the plant, doubling its capacity from 100 to 200 metric tons per year.  In so doing, PRII will be able to better serve the domestic market.

PRII is a repeat client as its first plant was constructed in 1998 by ACI (then known as Metaphil).

“We are confident that ACI will be able to commit to and deliver on this project. We are giving our full commitment to RISQ (reliability, integrity, safety and quality) as we always do with every project we undertake,” Aboitiz said.
