    Aboitiz Construction donates 1,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines to Paranaque City

    To help ramp up the vaccination program in the country, Aboitiz Construction, Inc., in partnership with Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., formally donated 1,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines to the City Government of Parañaque last November 8, 2021.

    A virtual ceremonial turnover was led by Antonio Peñalver, Executive Director of Aboitiz Construction, Maribeth Marasigan, President and Chief Operating Officer of Aboitiz Foundation, and Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez.

    Peñalver said that Aboitiz Construction is one with the Aboitiz Group in building a better future by helping the community achieve herd immunity through the donation of vaccines.

    “We believe that our collaboration with Parañaque City will take us one step forward to getting back to normal. In line with our core value of responsibility, we aim to contribute in ensuring the safety and health of many communities,” he said.

    Meanwhile, Mayor Olivarez acknowledged the importance of collaboration between public and private entities especially in taking actions to help address this pandemic. He shared that through their COVID-19 response efforts, about 90% of their population has been fully vaccinated.

    “We cannot do these efforts alone. We would like to thank Aboitiz Construction and Aboitiz Foundation for your untiring support to us in combating this pandemic. Partnership between the government and private companies like you makes the goal more achievable,” said Mayor Olivarez.

    Marasigan is optimistic about bouncing back to normal because of these collaborative efforts. She also recognized Parañaque City for its efforts towards recovery and achieving herd immunity.

    “We are inspired and motivated by the commitment of Parañaque City in its fight against COVID-19. We have one thing in common, and that is to overcome the challenges of our time and to co-create a resilient, empowered and sustainable community, ” she said.

    Aboitiz Construction, through the help of Aboitiz Foundation, has been active in helping ensure the health and safety of its host communities. Recently, the company donated 2,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines to the municipality of Balamban in Cebu and to the provincial government of Surigao del Norte.
