Aboitiz Construction builds for a local storage and grains distribution company

Aboitiz Construction was recently awarded the rehabilitation of the piers 1 & 2 and threshold facilities of Mariveles Grains Corporation (MGC) located in Mariveles, Bataan.

The rehabilitation project kicked off last November 2021 and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year. As part of Aboitiz Construction’s commitment to helping other businesses to thrive, the project is intended to prolong the stability of piers—the main structures in loading and unloading of grain products in the area.

MGC is one of the subsidiaries of La Filipina Uy Gongco Corporation, a highly diversified food, agribusiness, and livestock company. MGC operates a grain and commodities terminal that offers a range of services, including handling, storage and distribution of imported bulk grains.

The terminal under MGC handles deliveries from Panamax vessels at a rate of 8,000 metric tons to 10,000 metric tons per day.

“Through this project, we aim to help in improving the logistics of grain products and contribute to our local food industry. This project also highlights our expertise in building infrastructures that involve different areas of civil works,” said Levi B. Agoncillo, Aboitiz Construction’s Vice President for Business Development, Tender Planning, Engineering, and Design.

Aboitiz Construction is also involved in various infrastructure projects nationwide that include construction of substations, transmission lines, warehouses, mooring dolphins, and land development works.
