Aboitiz businesses on Inquirer’s Philippines’ Best Employers 2023
Last October 24, Aboitiz Group companies were honored to be part of the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s list of the “Philippines’ Best Employers 2023”. The report was conducted in collaboration with Statista, the world’s leading data and business intelligence portal.
There were 300 employers listed, divided into 27 industries. Aboitiz Construction, the construction arm of the Group, placed 4th under the Construction, Oil & Gas Operations, and Mining industry. AboitizPower also placed 4th in the Utilities category. Meanwhile, Aboitiz-led Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank) was ranked 19th among Banking and Financial Services employers who were listed.
The list of best employers was determined from a study that drew from more than 2,000 qualified local companies, each with at least 250 employees. Respondents were asked to rate their companies based on salaries, work-life balance, job growth, work culture and company reputation, among others. The final sample of respondents consisted of over 11,000 employees.
Aboitiz Construction
“We are very delighted to be recognized as one of the country’s best employers. This signifies our efforts to create a future-proof workplace and build a diverse culture that is anchored on our core values,” said Aboitiz Construction President Anton M. Perdices.
Early this year, Aboitiz Construction relaunched with a new brand identity to signify its bold move to become a top-of-mind employer in the construction industry and establish a strong national presence. This rebranding is in line with its commitment to help other businesses thrive, generate job opportunities, and build a better Philippines through constructing quality structures.
With projects throughout the country, Aboitiz Construction has focused on the industrial, infrastructure and maintenance sectors. It has also recently partnered with international visionary consultants Fragile to Agile to design the company’s digital transformation roadmap that will further help in creating an agile workplace and propelling the company’s growth.
AboitizPower
“It gives us great honor to be recognized as one of the best employers in the country,” shared AboitizPower President and CEO Emmanuel V. Rubio.
“At AboitizPower, we see our employees as the best partners in realizing our goals. As our success is built on great people accomplishing great things together, we look forward to our new journey as we set out to transform energy for a better world.”
Last September, AboitizPower introduced to its 3,000-strong workforce its new grand-scale MTP or Massive Transformative Purpose, that of “Transforming Energy for a Better World”, as well as its redefined values, bringing more relevance and significance to its principles of Integrity, Teamwork, Innovation, Responsibility and Service Excellence. This was done to realign the company’s business strategies with the current industry landscape.
AboitizPower was also recognized as among the top five regional exemplars during the People Management Association of the Philippines Employer of the Year Awards last October 14. The company also continues to promote its Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging or DEIB Program in its workplace, reinforcing AboitizPower’s sustainability journey and its support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 10: reducing inequalities.
