Aboitiz bags top Philippine Quill Award for 2nd straight year

Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. (AEV) was recognized as among the country’s most outstanding organizations in communication management for its employee-driven “carbon cleanse” competition at the 16th Philippine Quill Awards, in addition to winning eleven additional awards for various communication campaigns across the Aboitiz Group.

During the awards ceremony held by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines last July 10 at the Manila Marriott Hotel, Newport City in Pasay City, AEV received an Award of Excellence and the Top Division Award in Communication Management (after garnering the highest score among hundreds of entries in this division) for “Let’s drive change for a better world: The Aboitiz No Impact Challenge (ANIC).”

“The organizations we honor at the Philippine Quills are our partners in pushing for purpose in communication—helping pave the way for the truth to come out and to shape our world for the better. As the Top Awardee in Communication Management, Aboitiz has demonstrated IABC’s values of excellence and integrity in business communication. Through their award-winning campaign, the company created purpose in communication, influencing and creating long-lasting impact that will benefit the future generations,” said Kane Errol Choa, IABC Philippines Chairman.

Inspired by the Aboitiz Group’s purpose ̶ to drive change for a better world ̶ ANIC is a communication initiative that encourages Aboitiz team members to make simple lifestyle choices that promote wellness while reducing carbon footprint. The campaign is part of the Aboitiz Race to Reduce (R2R) 2.0 program that underpins the Aboitiz Group’s commitment to resource efficiency and minimizing operational carbon footprint, and manifests the Aboitiz Group’s core values of integrity, teamwork, innovation, and responsibility.

Six other Aboitiz initiatives received Awards of Excellence:

  1. Aboitiz Social Media Transformation
  2. Aboitiz Digital Studio
  3. Internal Social Media Education
  4. My Tree, My ABC: The Aboitiz Simultaneous Tree-Planting Project
  5. ABC: The Aboitiz Integrated Report
  6. #WeatherWiser Nation Goes Digital

as well as Merit Awards:

As it won the third most number of Awards of Excellence, AEV was also named Top Company of the Year-2nd runner up, bringing the Aboitiz Group’s total haul to 12 awards, an internal record.

“Our recent achievements at the Philippine Quill Awards are a clear testimony to the dedication and hardwork of our team members in communicating in the best way possible what we stand for as one group. Inspired by these awards, we will continue implementing communication initiatives that drive change for a better world by advancing business and communities,” said Erramon I. Aboitiz, AEV President and Chief Executive Officer.

The Philippine Quill Awards is considered the country’s most prestigious awards program in the field of business communication. Organized annually by IABC Philippines, it has given its seal of approval to the most reputable organizations and corporations in the nation for over a decade, emphasizing the excellent use of communication to achieve business goals, and to make a difference in society.
