Aboitiz Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Aboitiz Group, the Philippines’ first Techglomerate, marked another milestone in its mission to bridge the digital divide as it led the turnover of USD 50,000 worth of laptops to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and GoDigital Philippines, an organization focused on accelerating digital transformation.

(OFI) to advance inclusive education in the Philippines’ most underserved communities by scaling up AuroraPH, a flagship program that delivers renewable energy, internet connectivity, and digital learning tools to last-mile schools in the Philippines.
In line with its mission to nurture young leaders equipped to drive innovation and social good, Aboitiz Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Aboitiz Group, the Philippines’ first techglomerate, hosted aerospace engineer and citizen astronaut Aisha Bowe for an inspiring dialogue with its college scholars.
Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. (AEV) reported its first-half 2025 results, reflecting a softer start to the year but showing a strong recovery in the second quarter. The quarter-on-quarter rebound, driven by improved performances in key business units, underscores the resilience of AEV’s diversified portfolio and its ability to adapt swiftly to changing market conditions.
The visit also highlighted key challenges, such as the two-year inactivity of Republic Cement’s pyroprocessing due to rising imports. Republic Cement Strategy Director Kemuel Garcia explained that government projects account for nearly 40 percent of cement demand, yet current procurement rules do not distinguish between local and imported cement. This puts domestic producers at a disadvantage.
