The Aboitiz Future Leaders Scholarship Program, established in 2000, is the college scholarship program of Aboitiz Foundation and a gateway to a brighter future for young, talented individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership potential. Aside from covering full tuition fees and allowances, the scholarship offers personal and professional growth opportunities to help our scholars become future leaders. The Scholarship Program also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4, which focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education while promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. By providing financial support, mentorship, and skill-building experiences, the program actively contributes to creating a more inclusive educational landscape and empowering students to achieve their full potential.

Eligibility
  • A sophomore student enrolled in any of the partner university
  • Enrolled in a degreeidentified by the Foundation
  • Have a first year college GPA/GWA of at least 88% or the equivalent
  • With no dropped subject, failing and/or incomplete grade in any academic subject
  • Does not have a recordof any form of disciplinary action
Documentary Requirements
  • Copy of Student ID
  • Copy of Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • Copy of College Grades starting 1st year/ Transcript of Records/Certificate of True Copy Grades
  • Copy of Certificate of Enrollment/Registration for the 1st and 2nd Term/Semester of S.Y. 2025-2026
  • Copy of Certificates of College Leadership / Awards / Seminars

I am currently a college student enrolled in one of your listed degree programs. Can I apply for the scholarship?

Yes. The scholarship is only open for incoming SOPHOMORE STUDENTS.

I am an incoming freshman planning to enroll/enrolled in one of your listed degree programs. Can I apply for the scholarship?

No. The scholarship is only open to incoming sophomore students who have completed their first year in college.

I am currently located outside Metro Manila and planning to enroll in one of your partner schools. Am I allowed to apply for the scholarship?

Yes. The scholarship program is open for all applicants who possess the eligibility requirements nationwide as long as they are enrolled in the Foundation’s partner schools.

I have submitted my scholarship application to CHED and DOST. Am I still allowed to apply for the scholarship?

Yes, you may still apply. However, please note that applicants who are current recipients of scholarships from other corporate foundations are not eligible under the program.

Do you accept applicants who plan to enroll in a course not found on your list of pre-identified degree programs?

No. The degree programs are pre-identified to align with the Group’s future talent needs. Thus, only applicants who are taking the identified courses are eligible to apply.

Would you consider applicants who are enrolled to a school not listed as your partner?

No. Only applicants who are enrolled in any of our partner schools are eligible to apply for the program.

I started college a year ago but was unable to continue due to financial challenges. Am I still eligible to apply for the program as an incoming sophomore?

Yes. The program is open to all incoming sophomore students, regardless of when you completed your freshman year.

Can we submit our application personally at your office?

No. All applications must be submitted to the university's scholarship office through the online application portal.

When will we know the results of the application?

Results will be made available via our Aboitiz Foundation's official FB Page and Instagram account on the indicated timeline. Additionally, results will be communicated through your respective university's designated channels. Please stay tuned for more details.

Would the interviews be conducted in-person?

Yes. Further instructions will be communicated via email should you be shortlisted.

Is there an exam we need to take for the program?

No. There is no exam required for the application.

How do I apply for the scholarship?

Applications will be processed through the respective scholarship offices of each partner university. You may coordinate with your school’s designated office for the application procedures.

What is expected from scholars in return? Will there be return of service?

There is no required return of service after graduation. However, as part of their commitment, scholars are expected to:

1. Maintain good academic standing and moral character
2. Participate in leadership development activities, learning sessions, and other Foundation-led events
3. Complete a mandatory 400-hour internship within the Aboitiz Group’s business units

These are designed to support your holistic growth and prepare you to become a future leader who gives back meaningfully to society.

What is the scholarship’s period of support?

The scholarship covers second year up to graduation including intersession / midyear terms (that are mandated in the curriculum) provided that the scholar continues to meet the eligibility requirements. It does not cover extended semesters due to shifting, delays, or other personal decisions.
