SN Aboitiz Power conducts POWER 101 workshop for IPs and community leaders in Benguet

June 19, 2026

SN Aboitiz Power (SNAP), a joint venture between Scatec and Aboitiz Power Corporation, welcomed indigenous peoples, members of the Tribal Communities Association of the Philippines (TRICAP), and various stakeholders in Baguio City for POWER 101, a two-day learning and exposure program on the power sector. Conceptualized together with TRICAP, it aims to help build awareness of how the sector operates and its vital role in driving economic development by providing an overview of power generation and the governing framework under the Electric Power Industry Reform Act or EPIRA law. The participants also visited SNAP’s Ambuklao Hydroelectric Power Plant in Benguet, providing them with firsthand exposure to hydropower operations and environmental stewardship practices. POWER 101 also opened opportunities for constructive engagement between indigenous peoples and the power industry, with a learning session and dialogue dedicated to the importance of respecting rights, traditions, and customary practices, as well as understanding cultural heritage in development initiatives.
