AboitizPower brings Cleanergy Center closer to partner communities

While the Cleanergy Center is currently being renovated to become even more interactive, AboitizPower, through subsidiary AP Renewables, Inc. (APRI), brought the fun and excitement of learning renewable energy to its partner communities.
More than 1,000 students from three public high schools in Laguna joined APRI's roadshow called "Padyak Para sa Kaalaman" last month in celebration of the Cleanergy Center's fourth anniversary. Among them was Noel G. Calub, a Grade 10 student of Pedro Guevarra National High School, who was inspired by the opportunities the Cleanergy Center brings apart from renewable energy education.
“The Cleanergy Center helped me express my passion for science," Calub said after presenting his Van de Graaff project made of recycled materials to his fellow students. He added that supporting the advocacy of the Cleanergy Center will encourage and challenge more students to come up with pioneering ideas and bring these to life just like the e-bike, one of the center's interactive displays.
Dr. Willy D. Frederico, principal of Pedro Guevarra Memorial National High School, said that it was an honor for their school to be part of a valuable initiative for students.
"We are truly honored and grateful for the opportunity to host the Cleanergy Center, allowing our students to learn more about renewable energy in a fun and engaging way. It's a totally different learning experience and we believe that it will make a lasting positive impact on our students," Frederico said.
The Cleanergy Center was established in 2013 and to date, it has welcomed more than 30,000 visitors from all over the world. Its owners and operators, AboitizPower and APRI, have since been active partners in community building through various projects focusing on education, health, and environment, among others.
Felino M. Bernardo, APRI President and COO, said that AboitizPower and APRI strive to be not just a reliable power supplier but more importantly, a responsible and dependable community partner.
"Everything that we do in AboitizPower and APRI, we align with the Aboitiz Group purpose of advancing business and communities. We're happy to be partners with our host communities in projects that create opportunities for inclusive growth," Felino added.
The Cleanergy Center is set to reopen on December 5 to offer an even better learning experience with improved facilities and added interactive displays.
