Pampanga school to have new building for K-12 students

Pampanga school to have new building for K-12 students

A two-storey, four-classroom school building is poised to make learning more enjoyable for K-12 students of San Agustin Integrated School (SAIS) – Annex in San Fernando, Pampanga.

The school building, which is a corporate social responsibility project of AboitizPower, Aboitiz Foundation, and San Fernando Electric Light and Power Company (SFELAPCO), broke ground on September 17, 2019 and is slated for completion next year.

SAIS currently has only one building with six classrooms that cater to 385 students. With the limited number of classrooms, students are forced to have morning and afternoon shifts, thus reducing their time for learning.

“We are thankful to our partners that with this new school building, students are given the opportunity to enjoy learning through better facilities,” SAIS School Principal Mario Deraco, Jr. said during the groundbreaking ceremony.

For his part, San Fernando Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin also expressed his gratitude to AboitizPower, Aboitiz Foundation, and SFELAPCO.

“The city government welcomes you, Aboitiz. Your presence here is a great thing to show concern for the people of Fernandinos. We would like to thank AboitizPower, Aboitiz Foundation, and SFELAPCO. These companies really do good in helping people and uplifting their standard of living,” Lazatin said.

The project is also supported by the local government of the City of San Fernando and the Department of Education (DepEd) City of San Fernando Division.

The strong partnership among various stakeholders played a key role in the inception and implementation of this project. For Juan Alejandro Aboitiz, AboitizPower First Vice President for Energy Trading and Sales, “This project is another step towards our commitment to creating value through strong partnerships. Community projects such as this exemplify the way we do business – honest, collaborative, and in ways that are sustainable to the communities we serve.”
