CitySavings aids LGUs in SAP Disbursement

The coronavirus pandemic has changed not just our country but the whole world today. Many have lost their jobs and other sources of income during this uncertain time. Because of the challenges brought by the pandemic, several organizations continue to tirelessly support both private and government-initiated projects to help alleviate the lives of many Filipinos by working together to provide better services.

Since the beginning of the community quarantine, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provided help to qualified beneficiaries through the social amelioration program (SAP). During the second tranche, UnionBank’s thrift arm, City Savings Bank, Inc. (CitySavings) was tapped to aid select Local Government Units (LGUs) to conveniently disburse this cash subsidy.

Leveraging on the i2i platform by UnionBank’s fintech arm, UBX, CitySavings has served close to 5,000 qualified beneficiaries through strategically located branches in NCR, Regions 3, 4A, 6, and 7. This is also in line with the Bank’s mission to extend banking and financial services to the mass market and the unbanked sector of the community.

Maayos po ang pag-entertain ng CitySavings sa amin at mabilis po ang transaction (We were accommodated well by CitySavings and the transaction was efficient)” shared Albert Sanchez, one of the qualified SAP beneficiaries who transacted at CitySavings Mandaue City, Cebu Branch. “You have a very accommodating, client-oriented, and courteous personnel. Safety protocol was properly observed” mentioned Gea Campos who went to CitySavings Sampaloc, Manila Branch.

“Amidst the health crisis, CitySavings is here to help and fully support this government-led initiative. We hope to make the lives of our fellow Filipinos better by providing accessible banking services in their locality. This partnership with DSWD is a testament to our founders’ vision to help people of moderate means” said CitySavings President and CEO Lorenzo Ocampo.
