Aboitiz wins big at the Philippine Quill Awards

The Aboitiz 100th Anniversary Book is the Aboitiz Group’s commemorative publication chronicling 100 years of Aboitiz & Company. It received the excellence award in the publication category at the 19th Philippine Quill Awards.
On Thursday, August 18, the Aboitiz Group received several honors at the Philippine Quill Awards, the country’s most prestigious awards program in the field of business communications.
The accolades given by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines were: the excellence award in the publications category for Aboitiz 100th Anniversary Book: 100 Years of Advancing Business and Communities; the excellence award in the internal communications category for the “InfraKamustahan: The AIC Virtual Townhall”; and a merit award in the digital communications category for the “#OneAboitizSustainability Microsite.”
The 19th edition of the Philippine Quill Awards carried the theme “Move: Stronger Together,” highlighting the power of communicators in shaping the future and moving people to positive change. Such a theme resonated profoundly with the Aboitiz Group and its ultimate purpose. This year in particular, these recognitions reaffirm what the Aboitiz Group has been conscientiously working towards over the past century, and what it is committing itself to achieving for a century more.

The Aboitiz 100th Anniversary Book
The Aboitiz 100th Anniversary Book is the Aboitiz Group’s official commemorative publication chronicling the past century of Aboitiz. It is a story of overcoming challenges for business survival, of industry and growth, and of the company’s remarkable evolution into the multi-industry, regional conglomerate it is today.
The publication process involved fact-checking thousands of pieces of historical data, gathering memorabilia, and collaborating with valued shareholders. All this amidst the communication difficulties posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. It was a labor of resilience and loyalty by those within and around the Aboitiz Group.
Ultimately, the history captured in the book serves as inspiration for the next chapter of Aboitiz. As the company goes through its ‘Great Transformation’, the lessons of the past century will be applied with a renewed entrepreneurial spirit to bring the Aboitiz at the forefront of innovation as the Philippine’s first ‘Techglomerate’.
InfraKamustahan
“InfraKamustahan: The AIC Virtual Townhall” was launched by Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC) in 2020, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. AIC is the infrastructure arm of the Aboitiz Group.
What originally started as monthly discussions on organizational matters quickly took on a new meaning as the AIC Leadership Team and Committee quickly realized the potential of expanding the scope of the town hall to address the well-being of team members. As the world learned to adapt to the new normal, the InfraKamustahan brought together team members across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, providing a much needed sense of community during these trying times.
SOLID FOUNDATION.
Launched at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the InfraKamustahan virtual town hall brought Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC) team members across the country together. InfraKamustahan received the excellence award in the internal communications category at the 19th Philippine Quill Awards.
It soon became a looked forward to event and key program for employee engagement. Alongside the lively games and panels, there were honest discussions on workplace issues, with the majority of the time dedicated to questions and answers so that team members could give candid feedback.
The infrastructure industry is one that acutely understands the importance of a solid foundation. Through the InfraKamustahan, each team member felt that their voices matter. This ensured that even when separated by circumstance, each team member remained in good spirits and engaged, the true foundation of a successful team.

Underscoring Aboitiz’s ‘Great Transformation’ growth strategy is a dedication to sustainability. This is done alongside a commitment to aligning business practices with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), a shared global blueprint for a sustainable future.
