As a corporate citizen, it is the Company’s continuing commitment to behave ethically and contribute to the economic development while improving the quality of life of its workforce, their families, our customers, our local communities, our government and society at large whilst committed to sustainability.

In 1988, the Aboitiz Group established the Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. as the social development arm of the Aboitiz Corporate group. CSR teams from business units nationwide were formed and now work together with the Aboitiz Foundation in areas where our companies are located. These BUs are mandated to allocate a percentage of their profits every year to fund the Foundation’s projects in their respective areas of operations and be the neighbour of choice to their host communities. Rubio signed today the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that will implement a systematic, sustainable, and meaningful reforestation partnership with the goal of planting and growing 6 million trees via Phase 2 of the A-Park sustainability program. In a related development, Mr. Faelnar said the construction of the 68-MW hydropower project in Bukidnon is ongoing. “So far, so good, we’re on track,” he said. The project is composed of two units — the 43-MW Manolo Fortich 1 and 25-MW Manolo Fortich 2 — that will utilize hydropower resources from the Tagoloan River. “Our target completion date on that (Manolo Fortich 1) would be sometime May 2017 and then the next one (Manolo Fortich 2) would be August 2017,” he said. Davao City – The “Eco Market Day” was recently launched by an AbotizPower subsidiary to raise the awareness among the youths on environmental issues and help communities lessen garbage that pollute rivers and streams. Hedcor, a subsidiary of AbotizPower in Barangay Tudaya and the nearby communities in the town of Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur, joined students from Tudaya and neighboring villages in collecting recyclable materials of households. Around 318 kilos of recyclable materials were gathered during a day of activity and sold junk shops in the area.
