Aboitiz & Company

Aboitiz & Company (ACO) was established by Paulino Aboitiz in the late 1800s as a trading business dealing in abaca and general merchandise in Ormoc, Leyte. It later expanded its operations to inter-island shipping, facilitating the movement of its products across the Visayas region. In 1920, ACO was officially incorporated and continues to serve as the Aboitiz family’s private holding company.

Under the leadership of Don Ramon Aboitiz, Paulino’s second son, the company underwent a significant period of growth and expansion. What began as a modest mercantile venture transformed into a diverse conglomerate with multiple companies operating across various industries, all playing vital roles in the nation’s development.

ACO’s remarkable transformation from a small family enterprise to one of the Philippines’ largest and most respected business groups is a testament to its solid foundation built on trust, fairness, integrity, and quality.

With five generations of both family and professional management steering its success, Aboitiz Group echoes the time-honored philosophies of Don Ramon, upholding a legacy of excellence that has flourished over the span of a century.

Today, the Aboitiz Group is embarking on a Great Transformation, poised to become the Philippines’ first techglomerate.
